Post Coronation and Dead Egyptians
I am glad to say that I survived travelling to Sydney for Coronation and had a super time despite the usual sleep deprivation caused by noise and too much ambient light and direct light from the motel's security lighting. CURSES!!
Coronation was wonderful in the great Australian tradition of parks, trees and food. Everyone was delightful and it was finally great to say hi to people that may wear funny pointy hats once or twice a year. It was wonderful to see the ceremony that entails Coronation with myself, Kol and Harald swearing fealty as part of the populace to the new K & Q. I love the red cloaks that House Drakkar got given and therefore have featured them in my blog photo. The get-together at the pub later on was good and the beer was welcomed even more. Spent far too much money which is not good for the relationship between Mr Grump and I - oh well, add it to the list.
After coming home from Coronation, I had 2 days to recover and wash and maintain garb before we left for Canberra and the Egyptian exhibition from the Lourve. The trip was non-eventful even after thinking I had left my wallet at home and could'nt do any of the driving - but after a break at Canowindra I found it in the glove box. PHEWWW. We arrived in Canberra safely and after a very tense hissy fit in which map books were thrown we found our accomodation and checked in and checked out the exhibition. Which only took an hour to look at and 5 minutes to dismiss the TACKY souvenirs - what a load guff. Had a coffee at the gallery - atrocious.
By this time we both needed a nap, so back to the hotel for a nana nap - refreshed we tackled Manuka and its restaurant strip. After a walk around found the first restaurant we passed and got a table. - fantastic food, great wait staff. Beluchi's is the name.
After dinner, drove to Fyshwick - enough said. Drove to hotel, sleepppppp.
Trip home, less eventful. Good to have my own bed again.
Worked today, was a shit fight with the oven breaking down again and some little shithead person working not being very helpful..slightly arrogant.
